In addition to a solid street education, Ray has two English degrees - a Bachelor's Degree from Queens College and a Master's Degree from Brooklyn College. Brooklyn and Queens, New York - that tells you pretty much everything you need to know about Ray. He has also studied Screenwriting, Directing for TV/Film and Acting at both N.Y.U. and The New School University in NYC.
Much of his storytelling is informed by having been born in one of the most diverse counties in the world, Queens, NY - birthplace of such legendary filmmakers as Martin Scorsese, Judd Apatow, and Jon Favreau.
Homebound because of a long-term illness as a child, Ray found himself watching a lot of televison as an escape. He was intrigued by the storytellers on these shows - the names of the writers that appeared at the end of the episodes: Stephen J. Cannell, Frank Lupo, Chas. Floyd Johnson, Donald Bellisario and later, David Milch, Vince Gilligan, Tom Fontana, Terence Winter, and David Chase.
Ray’s original stories for the screen tell the tale of everyday people who comedically navigate the qualms and quandaries of life on their way to creating a new reality for themselves.
Samples posted here are for public consumption. We lay no claim to the characters or any other IP involved in these productions other than the original work titled "Mason/Dixon."
In addition to what's publicly available here, we have five original pilot ideas for television shows, all with completed scripts and season outlines. POST TIME is the beginning of one of these scripts.
Cheers.
